Zoo City Summer Classic: 56 Teams. One Big Weekend.
Inside: key divisions to watch, the clubs joining us in Asheboro, community partners making the weekend meaningful, and how to follow the action live.

Good morning,
The 2026 Zoo City Summer Classic is almost here, and we’re excited to welcome 56 teams from across NC, SC, VA, and MD for a big weekend in Asheboro. As our first-ever North Carolina event, this marks an exciting next step for UnitedGoals USA and the community we’re continuing to build.
Strong Field in Asheboro
This year’s tournament features 13 divisions, 33 programs, and 56 teams, with clubs coming from multiple states and a wide mix of age groups.

A few divisions stand out. The U18/19 Boys bracket will be one of the best, featuring NCFC, NC Fusion, FHE Hawks, WCWAA, Carolina Spartans, and Union Dragons. U10 Boys is also loaded with 8 teams, while the U13 Boys and U12 Girls divisions both bring strong matchups and plenty of intrigue.
This is the first year of the tournament and we’re thrilled to have it supported by the local soccer community. There will be quality matchups all weekend long.
Competition With Purpose
Community impact is a major part of this event. The Zoo City Summer Classic will support Kits for Kicks, a youth-led organization helping make soccer more accessible by collecting and redistributing gear for players in need.

Madi’s Mission will also help raise awareness for local children battling cancer, and Southwestern Randolph HS’s Interact Club will volunteer on-site to help the event run smoothly.
We’re also grateful for the local businesses supporting the weekend, including Jellystone Park, Carrigan Farms, Vazquez Trim & Paint, Calderon Construction, Davis Furniture, and Signature Flooring.
Why This Weekend Matters
This is more than just another event on the calendar. It’s the beginning of our footprint in North Carolina, and a chance to bring together new clubs, new families, and new community partners around the game we all care about.
For the full competition preview, the event guide lays everything out in one place—including the key divisions, competing programs, and a look ahead at what’s next for UnitedGoals USA in 2026.

Looking Ahead
The Zoo City Summer Classic is only the start. The guide also highlights the upcoming North Carolina 7v7 Cup this August at the same venue, where 75+ teams are expected.
We’re excited about what this weekend means for the future of youth soccer in North Carolina—and we’re grateful to everyone helping us build it.
Closing Thoughts
This weekend is more than the start of another tournament—it’s the beginning of something special as we bring UnitedGoals USA to North Carolina for the first time.
From strong competition on the field to the community partners helping make the weekend meaningful, the Zoo City Summer Classic reflects what we want youth soccer to look like: competitive, welcoming, and driven by purpose.
Together, we’re Building American Soccer Together — One Tournament at a Time.
Warmly,
Colin Gorini
