Why Youth Soccer Costs So Much — and How We’re Changing It

(3-min read)

Good morning,

My goal with every email is simple: to share my passion for youth soccer and the community that makes it thrive.

I hope you enjoy it, and I’d love to hear your feedback.

Coach’s Corner: Continuous Long Pass → Give-Go Drill

A simple, high-tempo warm-up drill that improves passing accuracy, timing, and communication.

Setup:

  • Divide players into two lines, 15–25 yards apart.

  • Ball starts at one line.

How It Works:

  1. The first player plays a long pass to the opposite line.

  2. After passing, they follow their pass and call for a give-go from the receiver.

  3. The receiver returns the pass, then immediately sends a long ball to the opposite line.

  4. Play continues in a constant rhythm between both lines.

Coaching Tips:

  • 2 touches to receive the long pass, 1 touch for the give-go sequence.

  • Keep movement sharp and communication constant.

Parent’s Corner: Making Soccer Affordable Again

Youth soccer is expensive. The average annual cost for club-level play, including tournaments and travel, is $1,472 per child — and can soar past $20,000 a year for elite programs. (Girls Soccer Network )

At UnitedGoals USA, we refuse to let cost be a barrier. That’s why we’re committed to:

  • Keeping our tournament fees modest

  • Never enforcing “stay-to-play” hotel mandates

  • Building community fundraisers that give back to youth programs

Because soccer should be accessible — not exclusive.

Team Spotlight: Seneca Valley - 2015 Girls

Seneca Valley’s 2015 girls moved up to the U12 division at the 2025 7v7 Colonial Classic and rose to the challenge. Coach Jeramy Genaway’s team shut out three opponents 8-0 in group play, then claimed the title with a thrilling PK win over Fox Chapel. Congratulations, ladies!

Team Spotlight: DMV Rayados - U11 Boys

DMV Rayados put on a dominant showing at the 2025 4v4 Loudoun Legends Shootout, outscoring opponents 57–11 across six games. This region is packed with talent, yet they stood out as one of the most impressive teams we’ve seen. Well done, boys!

Community Spotlight: Raptors Soccer Foundation

Raptors Soccer Foundation is a nonprofit youth soccer group in Grant County, West Virginia

We’re proud to highlight the official launch of the Raptors Soccer Foundation, a new nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through inclusive, high-impact soccer programs across Grant County, WV, and beyond. Founded with a mission to make soccer accessible for all, the foundation has already kicked off its first U8 team — with U10 Girls and U11 Boys teams soon to follow. This is just the beginning of an exciting journey to grow the game and inspire the next generation of players.

Playing With Purpose: 2026 Community Partners

This past year, we partnered with organizations including the Pet Pantry of Lycoming County, PA Wounded Warriors, Montoursville Lady Warriors Soccer, East Lycoming Soccer Association, and RMU Men’s Club Soccer to give back through our events.

As we plan for 2026, we’re expanding those partnerships and looking for new ways to make an impact. If you’re part of a soccer program or know a nonprofit that shares our mission, we’d love to connect.
