Time & Money: Why Our Events Look Different
Inside: How one-day, no “stay-to-play” tournaments keep costs low for families—and how our community just raised $6,350 for Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc.

Good morning,
My goal with every email is simple: to share my passion for youth soccer and the community that makes it thrive.
I hope you enjoy it, and I’d love to hear your feedback.
Quick Thank You—$6,350 Raised for PA Wounded Warriors
Thanks to every coach, player, and family who purchased Veterans Day Freedom Cup apparel, we’re proud to share that $6,350 has been donated to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc. PA Wounded Warriors supports more than 20,000 veterans and their families across the state with basic living needs like utilities, housing, and transportation.
Well done, Team—this is what Building American Soccer Together looks like.
Coach’s Corner: Simple Offseason Plan for Players
If you want something simple to send home with players this winter, US Youth Soccer has a self-training “Wall Program” built for the offseason. Their Self-Training: Ways to Help Athletes Improve Performance on Their Own guide recommends two 45-minute workouts, done about three times per week, to maintain and improve technical skills in the offseason.
One of those is a Wall Workout that players can do almost anywhere: short passing with both feet, target passing, volleys, and shooting against a wall at different distances and heights—all in a 45-minute block focused purely on first touch and striking technique.

Parents’ Corner: Time & Money—Why Our Events Look Different
Most big youth soccer tournaments are built around “stay-to-play” rules—if you live more than 60–75 miles away, your team has to book hotels through a third-party provider. By the time you add 2–3 hotel nights, restaurant meals, gas, and “killing time” spending between games, many families are staring at a weekend that can push toward $1,000.
UnitedGoals USA is built the opposite way.
No mandatory hotels. You can drive to, play, and go home the same day.
1-day schedules. You get a full, competitive tournament in a single day instead of a dragged-out weekend.
On average, the team entry fee for a UnitedGoals USA tournament comes out to only $38.10 per player/family (team fee divided by average roster size). When you combine that with no required hotel stays and one-day formats, families get high-level, well-run events without burning a mortgage payment on one weekend. That’s the kind of access we’re committed to protecting as we keep Building American Soccer Together.

Team of the Week: NU United 14F Chaos - U12 Girls
NU United 14F Chaos went a perfect 5–0 at the Veterans Day Freedom Cup, winning a U12 girls division that featured eight teams from across PA and Upstate NY. They conceded just one goal all day and played with energy, sportsmanship, and respect from first whistle to last. Congrats to Team Chaos—we wish these girls the best of luck moving forward. |
Team of the Week: WNY Flash Rochester - U11 Boys
WNY Flash Rochester 2015B Premier traveled over three hours to compete at the Veterans Day Freedom Cup in Hughesville, PA—and they did not disappoint. The boys captured a competitive U11 Gold bracket, outscoring their three opponents 14–2 and grinding out tight wins over TNT Elite and Celtic SC, two strong Pennsylvania programs. Congratulations to the team—we hope to see you back in 2026. |

Community Spotlight: Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh
The Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh exists to support, connect, educate, and inspire individuals with Down syndrome across the lifespan in the Greater Pittsburgh region—championing empowerment, family enrichment, and true community inclusion.
We’re proud to partner with DSAP through the 4v4 Pittsburgh Preseason Cup on March 21, 2026—World Down Syndrome Day— at No Offseason Sports in Russellton. Event apparel proceeds will be donated to DSAP, and they’ll be on-site during the tournament to share resources and connect with families.
