May 31 Early Bird Deadlines: 4 Big Summer Tournaments

Inside: save on four summer events before May 31, a quick rondo video for coaches, a Parents’ Corner on healthy pressure, and Tyler Adams on handling big moments.

Good morning,

My goal with every email is simple: to share my passion for youth soccer and the community that makes it thrive.

We’ve got an important one for you this week.

Four of our biggest summer events have early bird discounts ending on May 31. If your team is considering any of them, now is the best time to lock in your spot and save.

Below, you’ll find a quick breakdown of each event, along with this week’s Coach’s, Parent’s, and Player’s Corner features.

I hope you enjoy it, and I’d love to hear your feedback.

Save Before May 31: 4 Summer Events With Early Bird Discounts

If you’re mapping out your summer schedule, this is the time to act. These four events all have early bird discounts ending May 31:

If one of these is on your radar, don’t wait until the end of the month. Secure your spot, save some money, and give your team something exciting to look forward to this summer.

Coach’s Corner: Why a Simple Rondo Still Matters

This week’s drill video is a rondo—simple, competitive, and still one of the best ways to train quick passing, movement, pressure, and decision-making. As Johan Cruyff famously said, almost everything that happens in a match except shooting can be trained in a rondo.

For coaches, the takeaway is simple: don’t overcomplicate it. A sharp rondo teaches players to think faster, support each other better, and handle pressure in tight spaces—exactly the kind of habits that show up on game day.

Parents’ Corner: Healthy Pressure Beats Future Pressure

A recent Parents article reported that 17% of parents think their child is “meant” to go pro, but experts warn that this kind of long-range pressure can distort the youth sports experience. The healthier goal is not to remove standards—it’s to help kids improve, compete, and enjoy the process without feeling like every game decides their future.

The best environments challenge kids while keeping the bigger picture in view. Push them to compete, yes—but don’t let the dream of “what this could become” overpower what the game is supposed to build right now.Upcoming UnitedGoals Events

The 7v7 July Jamboree launches this summer at PA Classics Soccer Park in Manheim, one of Central PA’s top soccer venues. With U9–U19 divisions, two full days of 7v7 play, and discounted Hersheypark tickets available, this one has all the ingredients for a great summer weekend.

If your team is looking for a fast-paced, high-energy event in an elite environment, this is a great one to join. Earlybird pricing ends 5/31 — use code 40JAMBOREE to save $40 per team.

Players’ Corner: Tyler Adams on Pressure

In a recent interview, Tyler Adams said becoming a father changed how he handles pressure. Instead of carrying every good or bad game home with him, he’s learned to trust his preparation, stay present, and not let soccer consume everything.

That’s a great lesson for younger players. Big moments matter—but they go better when you stop obsessing over them and trust the work you’ve already put in.

Girls Team of the Week: ODFC 2012 Girls

ODFC 2012 Girls won last year’s 4v4 Loudoun Legends Shootout in a strong U13–14 Girls bracket.

After two tight one-goal victories and a 4–2 group-play loss, they battled back and beat that same team 3–1 in the final.

What an exciting bracket—and we hope to see all teams back this year!

Boys Team of the Week: Susquehanna CPU Lions Elite

Susquehanna CPU Lions Elite traveled 2 hours north from the Harrisburg area and won the U11 Boys Silver bracket at the Veterans Day Freedom Cup.

They went 3–0, shutting out opponents 13–0 while beating several strong NorCenPenn teams.

Will we see them at the CenPenn Summer Cup next month?

Community Spotlight: Seneca Valley Soccer Association

Seneca Valley Soccer Association has been a strong supporter of the 7v7 Colonial Classic, with their teams competing in the event over the years. Last summer, their U10 Boys won the Gold Division, and their U12 Girls also captured their division title.

We’re excited that 2026 will be the first year SVSA is supporting the Colonial Classic as our partnered program. Their organization will help run concessions and support facility operations throughout the weekend, playing an important role in creating a smooth, high-quality experience for every team and family in attendance.
