CenPenn Summer Cup: Register By Sunday

Inside: your final call for CenPenn, World Cup watch ideas for coaches, parents, and players, and this week’s team & community spotlights

Good morning,

My goal with every email is simple: to share my passion for youth soccer and the community that makes it thrive.

I hope you enjoy it, and I’d love to hear your feedback.

Register Now: 2026 CenPenn Summer Cup | June 27–28 | Manheim, PA

This is the last week to register for the CenPenn Summer Cup before registration closes on Sunday, June 14. Limited spots are left and we’re currently accepting girls teams U9–U13 and boys teams U9–U19.

Teams get 3+ guaranteed games in a one-day format at Classics Soccer Park in Manehim, plus access to discounted Hersheypark tickets and hotel options.

If your team still needs one more strong summer event, this is your last chance.

Coach’s Corner: Watch the World Cup Like a Coach

With the World Cup beginning this week, one of the best things a coach can do is watch with intent. Instead of just following the ball, study how teams create width, shift defensively, and play their first pass after winning it back. The 2026 FIFA World Cup begins on Thursday.

Watching together can still be valuable without turning every match into a lesson. Sometimes the best thing you can do is just let them enjoy the game.

Parents’ Corner: Let the World Cup Be Fun

The World Cup is a great chance to simply enjoy soccer with your child. Ask who they liked watching, what play got them excited, or which team they’re cheering for. A recent Parents article noted how much parent influence shapes the youth sports experience.

Moments like these are a good reminder that some of the best soccer memories come from just watching together, talking about the game, and enjoying the experience as fans.

Players’ Corner: Pick a Player in Your Position

Try watching one player in your position for 10 straight minutes. Don’t just watch the ball — watch their movement off it, their body shape when receiving, and how they react after mistakes or turnovers.

That’s one of the easiest ways to get better without touching a ball. If you watch the game with purpose, you’ll start noticing habits that can help your own game right away.

Girls Team of the Week: Impact FC Arsenal Ladies 12U

The U12 Girls bracket at the Zoo City Summer Classic was tight, with only two games decided by more than one goal.

Impact FC Arsenal Ladies consistently executed, winning all three of their matches and outscoring opponents 6–1.

Congratulations, ladies!

Boys Team of the Week: Bogue Banks FC 16U Black

Bogue Banks FC 16U Black went a perfect 3-for-3 in group play at the Zoo City Summer Classic. Each win grew more decisive, with results of 2–1, 4–1, and 4–0 to close out the day.

More importantly, their sportsmanship stood out all weekend. Well done, BBFC!
