Coach’s Corner: Effective Passing Drills for Warmups!

Coaches, this video highlights 3 simple but strongly effective drills designed to help your players spread out and avoid bunching during games. This drill focuses on creating space, encouraging movement off the ball, and improving passing options for your players.

These are all key to building a more organized and effective team shape! Teaching your players how to use the width of the field and stay in their positions not only improves possession for your team but also helps them make smarter decisions during games, leading to better overall team play!

Parents’ Corner: Effective At-Home Cone Drills!

At-home practice is a key factor in player development. While team practices help develop key skills as well, extra touches at home help players improve their confidence, control, and decision-making under pressure!

A simple drill from Goalkick Soccer is a zigzag cone dribble: set up 5-6 cones (or household items) in a line, and have your player dribble through using small, controlled touches with both feet. You can add a timing challenge to make it more engaging!

Just 10-15 minutes a few times a week can greatly improve comfort on the ball and your players' performances in games.

Players’ Corner — How to Train like Pedri Gonzales

Pedri González, midfielder for FC Barcelona, builds his elite performance through simple but highly focused training habits that any young player can start doing.

He trains with a focus on quick agility, sharp reactions, and clean ball control. He starts with fast changes of direction, then works on passing, receiving, and game-like situations to improve real match decision-making.

He also focuses on building his fitness with interval sprints and agility work, which you can do as well. This TikTok video shows you a more in-depth scale of what Pedri does to be as great as he is.
