4v4 Pittsburgh Preseason Cup Preview🟡⚽️⚫️
Inside: Your A–Z guide to the 2026 4v4 Pittsburgh Preseason Cup–see who's competing this weekend. Who will be crowned champions?

Good morning,
Did you really think the excitement ended with the Clover Cup?
Of course not!
We’re turning right around and ready to welcome 47 teams from across Western PA, Ohio, and West Virginia at the 2026 4v4 Pittsburgh Preseason Cup at No Offseason Sports in Russellton.
We’re honored to use this event to support the Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh. The Preseason Cup falls directly on World Down Syndrome Day, and every penny from apparel sales this weekend goes to DSAP.
This is the first year of the tournament and we’re thrilled to have it supported by the local soccer community.
Read the latest Coach’s, Parents’, and Players’ Corner Segments below the Pittsburgh Preview.
Track this weekend’s results LIVE on the 4v4 Pittsburgh Preseason Cup webpage. Photos from the weekend will be shared on our Facebook Page early next weekend. Follow us to stay engaged!

Community Partner: Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh

The Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh (DSAP) is a nonprofit that supports more than 1,300 families in the Greater Pittsburgh area by providing resources, programs, and community support for individuals with Down Syndrome.
100% of the 4v4 Pittsburgh Preseason Cup apparel sales go directly to DSAP to help support families in their community. Support the cause and grab your gear!
Coach’s Corner: Short Finishing On Goal Drill
Coaches, this finishing drill is a great reminder of how important repetition and game-like situations are for young players.
In the video linked above, there are 3 different variations of this drill, so use what you feel will work the best for your players. Emphasizing quick shots with limited touches, and focusing on good movement and timing on receiving passes, will tremendously help your players in the long run.
Parents Corner: Helping Your Players Avoid Youth Sports Burnout
Youth sports burnout is becoming more and more common these days when kids feel too much pressure or play the same sport year-round without enough rest. In an article from the American Academy of Pediatrics, intense schedules and early specialization in one sport can lead to injuries and a loss of enjoyment.
Parents, you can help by encouraging balance — simply meaning that you’re making sure that your players have rest days, time for other activities, and a focus on fun and development rather than just results. When young athletes feel supported instead of pressured, they are more likely to stay healthy and enjoy sports in the long run!
Players Corner: Alex Morgan - Fighting Through Obstacles

Alex Morgan, a former star of the U.S. Women’s National Team, reminds young players that even the best athletes face challenges. She has been told in the past that she wasn’t good enough and has played many high-stakes games where she both won and lost.
Her message, which you can watch in this TikTok video, is simple: “It’s okay to lose sometimes. It’s okay to fall as long as you get back up, as long as you find some moment to learn along the way. That’s the most important thing. And just keep going.”
Closing Thoughts
This weekend isn’t just the start of another season—it’s a celebration of what our soccer community stands for: community, service, and fun.
Whether you’re competing, cheering, refereeing, or volunteering, thank you for being part of it. We’re excited to kick off 2026 with you at the 4v4 Pittsburgh Preseason Cup.
Together, we’re Building American Soccer Together — One Tournament at a Time.
Warmly,
